Join us for the in-person 2022 Annual Members Meeting. We'll start off with brief presentations on finance, highlights of the past year, previews of upcoming events and exhibitions, and the election of new board members. Then our guest artist, David Lee, will do a start-to-finish watercolor demo. The meeting will conclude with refreshments and lunch. (This event is for members only.)
David Lee’s demonstration will emphasize Pennsylvania landscape or cityscapes with people in it. The painting will start with a pencil sketch from a photo and he will complete the actual watercolor during the demonstration. His presentation style is informative, humorous and lively. There will be time for questions during the demonstration as well as afterward.
David Lee is a local award winning watercolor artist. He is considered a watercolor impressionist who paints landscapes and figures. His style is loose, bold and spontaneous. He believes an artist’s focus is very short, and that one should execute the painting as quickly as possible. This is especially true when painting outdoors on location.
David’s goal is to capture a moment in time that may invoke feelings and interest from viewers. He thinks that an artist should strive to show what he sees is worthwhile and important.
David was born in China and raised in Hong Kong and New York City.
