PHILADELPHIA WATER COLOR SOCIETY
For three days explore the dynamic potential of the pastel medium in landscape painting. We will begin each day using a different underpainting technique - monochromatic hues, complementary colors, and value-based analogous. Then working with dry pastel on top of the underpainting, there will be instruction in how to work with broken color, layering, and mark making to create the vibrant pastel paintings that are a hallmark of the medium. Each day starts with a demonstration and then we move to your easel, with plenty of one-on-one instruction.
