Barbara March

"I think of my paintings as mindful art, as I create images from my head, without an intricate drawing or anything particularly planned. Often, I get an idea that I would like to express on paper or canvas. Instead of drawing first, I begin by adding color and texture, which guides me to numerous possibilities, rarely knowing the ultimate outcome. Many of my paintings are non-objective, but I also enjoy combining realism with abstract components. I am generally attracted to color, but also enjoy monochromatic themes, using a limited pallet. I wish to inspire viewers and bring them to a new level of awareness and appreciation of watercolor art."

Barbara March is an artist from Marlton, New Jersey, where she lives and maintains a studio. She works primarily with mixed water media and her painting are mostly non-objective, which reflect her passion for color and design.

Her art work has been exhibited in numerous juried exhibitions, both locally, nationally and internationally and she has been honored with an extensive list of awards.

She is a Signature Member in the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, the Baltimore Watercolor Society. the New Jersey Watercolor Society and the Garden State Watercolor Society. Barbara currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society and is former President of the Garden State Watercolor Society.

As an artist, I believe it is important to connect with like-minded people with a common interest. I also feel strongly about “giving back” by becoming involved and contributing to art organizations on a volunteer basis. I have been involved in various art centers and organizations for the past twenty years in numerous capacities and I am beginning my third year as a Board Member for PWCS.

It has been an honor to be part of a team in this highly esteemed international organization. I have learned, grown and been inspired by so many amazing artists that I have admired over the years and now have had a chance to meet in person. My experience in working with this wonderful group of professional artists has been positive and invaluable.
